During the 2009-2014 tenure of the Honorable MP, several significant developments took place, including:
Conversion of State Highways to National Highways
Upon reaching the Lok Sabha, efforts were made to upgrade state highways to national highways.
- The Varanasi-Lucknow via Jaunpur highway was approved in October 2009.
- The Lucknow-Ballia state highway was converted into a national highway.
Rajeev Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme
By meeting with the then Minister of Energy, Jyotiraditya Scindia, the district was selected for the Rajeev Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme.
Proposal for Medical College in Jaunpur
A proposal for a medical college in Jaunpur was presented to the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati. Later, the work on this proposal started during the SP government.
Railway Overbridge Projects
Secured approval from the Ministry of Railways for the construction of:
- City Station Overbridge
- Naiganj Overbridge
- Jagdishpur Overbridge
The establishment of the Agricultural Science Center in Baksha has contributed significantly to agricultural research and development. Additionally, three new Community Health Centers were set up across various areas, improving healthcare services and access to medical facilities. The road from Jaunpur to Prayagraj was upgraded to a National Highway, enhancing connectivity and infrastructure.A proposal for a four-lane highway connecting Jaunpur was submitted, aimed at further improving road infrastructure. Furthermore, over 25,000 water supply connections (taps) were installed across the district, ensuring better access to clean drinking water for local communities.While a Food Park project was approved to boost local industry, it was shifted to Jhansi due to land acquisition issues. Similarly, a proposal for a Central School in the district was passed, but it remains delayed due to a lack of available land for the project. These efforts reflect a significant commitment to improving the district’s infrastructure, healthcare, and educational facilities.
